Job Families Framework for Professional & Administrative Roles



UCD has a Job Families Framework for Professional and Administrative roles which was developed as part of the ‘Developing Our Talent’ strand of the UCD HR strategy.

One of the many benefits of this Job Families Framework is the ability to provide a Career & Development Planning Tool which gives visibility of the range of roles and potential career paths across UCD which provide clear and consistent descriptions of the competencies required for different roles, to help plan your development and career.

How did we get here?

There are circa 1400 Professional and Administrative Staff in UCD with just over 500 role titles.  In 2018, teams from around the University, led by a Project Team in HR, worked together to create a framework, identifying 9 Job Families into which roles are grouped.
