Dr Sara Honarmand Ebrahimi

I was awarded my PhD in architecture by UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy in March 2018. My doctoral research examined the notion of trust in the context of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) medical work and it was funded by an Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship (2015-2017). Currently, I am developing on my PhD research to prepare it as a monograph. In March 2018, I received a research support grant from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art for a specific project in the context of my monograph. I am also developing a new project. The focus of my new project is British Hospital Architecture in the Middle East, 1875-1951 and I aim to examine the role of emotions in the context of colonial networking.

I have presented my research at several international conferences, in Dublin, Canterbury and Copenhagen. I am also a receipt of the Society for Architecture Historians of Great Britain research grant (May 2015). An article based on my PhD research is currently under review in the Journal of Architecture and Culture.
