Chinese Chippendale Chair
We are very sorry to learn that Patricia Rafter has been injured in a traffic accident
and is unable to give the above talk, to which we had been looking forward greatly.
Instead, we will bring along
a selection of DVDs related to China
(Patricia is agreeable to rescheduling her talk to next
season, so that is something to look forward to. Meantime, we wish her a speedy and complete recovery.)
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (8.00 pm)
This AGM, the 36th of the ICCS, gives the membership a say in the running of our society,
and an opportunity to become involved in its committee through nomination and election.
All members should have received full details by post, and are urged to attend.
This year again there is a
a DimSum and Chinese Tea Reception.
This DimSum reception following the meeting is, we believe, a first for the Society, and we hope that it will prove popular.
SUMMER OUTING
Following the inspirational talk by Laura Muldowney, we’ve decided to visit the Chester Beatty Library for
a Private Tour to view Chinese woodblock prints and items in storage. We have provisionally booked to meet
at 10.50 in the Entrance for the tour (charge €3) at 11.00a.m.,
which will be followed by lunch at the Silk Road Café at 12.30 for those who wish.
The number of places on a tour is limited. If you would like to come on this outing, and we hope you will,
please inform the Honorary Secretary (Nora McDowell, 67 Cowper Rd. Rathmines, Dublin 6, 4971505)
or any Committee member, or Email irishchineseculturalsociety@hotmail.com .
(Updates, if any, to these arrangements will be notified by email, in our Programme page
www.ucd.ie/iccs/iccspro.htm ,
and by phone to those who have said they would like to come.)
Remember: Saturday 18th June, in the Entrance of the Chester Beatty Library at 10.50 am.
