ISSDA joins CESSDA as Ireland's national service provider

3 November 2021

We are thrilled to announce that ISSDA has joined CESSDA as Ireland's national service provider.

CESSDA brings together social science data archives across Europe and provides large-scale, integrated and sustainable data services to the social sciences. CESSDA aims to promoting social science research and support both national and international research and cooperation. Membership of this consortium will allow ISSDA to integrate Irish data into the research infrastructure of CESSDA.

Head of ISSDA, Professor John Howard has welcomed the move saying "With funding for ISSDA as Ireland’s national service provider for CESSDA, and myself named as National Coordinator, ISSDA is now poised to expand its services, to integrate its technical systems with those of CESSDA, and facilitate broader engagement of Irish social scientists with the vast universe of European social sciences data. I am grateful to the Irish Research Council for its role in supporting ISSDA in the past and into the future.”

This membership has been made possible due to funding from the Irish Research Council.
