Changes to eduroam wireless network access

Fri, 17 May 19

On Tuesday, 28 May IT Services will apply changes to the eduroam wireless network. These changes are being implemented in order to make the service more secure for its users and the UCD network. This is part of a larger programme of work which is set to protect the UCD network and University information offering greater security to clients and devices and cutting down the risk of exposure to cyber threats.

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.  The service provides extended access to logged-in UCD staff, students and visitors from other institutions.

These changes follow on from the implementation of the staff password policy introduced late last year to help protect University information by ensuring that each staff member has a strong password for their UCD account.

Detailed information on how to access the eduroam network along with available network access on the service is available here.
