Buying a new Windows desktop PC & laptops

UCD’s contract with Dell for the procurement of PCs and Laptops expired on 23 May 2019. We are waiting for HEAnet to complete a new framework agreement.

In the interim period, to ensure compliance with Procurement rules, you can avail of the following options:

- For spends under €25K, seek competitive quotes in accordance with the UCD thresholds.

- Direct draw down from the OGP (Office of Government Procurement) framework agreements Lot 1 for <50 devices or Lot 2 for 51-250 devices.

- If it is essential that the new devices are compatible with recently purchased equipment then complete a Single Source Justification form, with the appropriate signatures and submit to the Procurement Office ( for approval.

How to buy Apple Computers and other Apple products

The HEAnet Apple Framework was awarded in December 2018 until January 2020.  This framework has drawn 1 supplier for each lot of Apple products and services.  There is the option to buy against any one lot, several lots or all lots.  The pricing structure is agreed, so you just need to email the addresses below, depending on what you want to order.
