What is Software Downloads?
Software Downloads is a service from UCD IT Services that provides both staff and students access to a library of software applications and utilities, which UCD has licensed. Software Downloads provides access to downloads for both the PC and Mac platforms where they are available.
Software available via this portal is available to currently registered users for academic use only and may have further requirements and conditions that are listed beside each application entry.
Sophos AntiVirus for MACs can be installed by UCD Staff on UCD owned machines and home machines. This version of Sophos AntiVirus requires Mac OS X, 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, 10.15, & MacOS 11.
Please note that following the installation of Sophos AV it can take an hour for the Sophos software to complete the initial update, a restart of the device is also required.
Sophos may not appear in the Menu Bar on your Mac's desktop until the update process has completed. After the update process has completed, the version of Sophos will be 9.10.3.
Access to this service is through UCD Connect on the main UCD home page and then clicking the Software Download link. Users will be asked to identify themselves as staff or student and then asked to log in using their UCD Connect credentials.
The list of software available to staff and students will vary depending on the license available for each application.
