2016 Adjudication Advocacy Course November 3
A full day Advocacy course given by The Adjudication Society, Ireland Region in conjunction with the UCD Sutherland School of Law, to be held at UCD. The Course is designed to demonstrate the procedural, practical and advocacy issues related to adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act 2013 and the Code of Practice relating to the conduct of adjudications under the Act. The course is timely, given that the 2013 Act commenced on July 25, 2016.
The Course will explain the legal mechanics of the Act, its impact on dispute resolution in construction, assess the likely impacts and relevance of the UK system and demonstrate best practice advocacy using an inter-active Case Study. The day is intended to help and inform lawyers and party representatives, in-house counsel, lay clients and potential adjudicators in better understanding the adjudication process and highlighting some of the pitfalls of this new process for those working in construction
