The Business, Law and Regulation Research Group (BLREG), as part of an ongoing collaboration with the Riga Graduate School of Law(RGSL), recently held a high profile international duo-colloquium entitled Consumer Protection and Competition Policy in a Changing World. Distinguished contributors from Hong Kong, Japan, Latvia, Poland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom along with UCD Sutherland School of Law (SSoL) academics offered insightful and thought provoking perspectives on the challenges faced by branches of commercial law during the current period of legal, economic and political “shocks” including Brexit.
The Conference was well attended by academics, practitioners and public servants.
The next stage of this innovative research collaboration is a conference at the RGSL this summer. Prof Mel Kenny (Pro-Rector, RGSL) along with UCD Sutherland School of Law’s Prof James Devenney (Mc Cann FitzGerald Chair of International Law and Business) and Dr Mary Catherine Lucey gratefully acknowledge the support they received from colleagues and contributors when organising the first component of this collaboration.
Professor Mel Kenny presents on the topic of Post Brexit Competition Law.
