If you're interested in Maths and Science and would like to explore a career in teaching, UCD Science DN200 offers a new route to become a post-primary teacher in Maths and Science, starting in September 2013.
This five-year Teaching Council accredited degree leads to an MSc in Mathematics and Science Education, where students will be qualified to teach one of the following subject combinations at second level:
- Applied Mathematics and Mathematics to Leaving Certificate
- Biology and Mathematics to Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate Science
- Chemistry and Mathematics to Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate Science
- Physics and Mathematics to Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate Science
These subjects are offered through our common entry DN200 Science course. This means you can explore your subject areas, along with some areas of education, in first and second year so that you will be able to make a better-informed decision about pursuing a teaching pathway after second year.
