In association with CECAM, Dr David J. Browne of UCD’s School of Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical Engineering will host a workshop on “MultiScale Modelling of Amorphous Materials: from Structure to Mechanical Properties”, from 4th to 6th of July, 2011.
The event will be attended by a number of high profile international researchers, including Prof. Lindsay Greer from the University of Cambridge, who will present recent results of their investigations into amorphous materials such as metallic glass alloys, and exchange ideas in an open forum. The workshop will include a generous reception at the Embassy of France in Dublin as some of the co-organisers, such as Dr Anne Tanguy of the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, are from France.
This will be followed by a convivial evening meal in a renowned south Dublin restaurant specialising in cooking using fresh Irish produce, at which the workshop theme and indeed wider issues will be discussed in a social, informal and relaxed setting.
Further information, including instructions for participants, is available from the workshop website - http://www.cecam.org/workshop-545.html.
