Congratulations to PhD student, Eilis McGrath, who was placed second in the Irish Heat of the World Lecture Competition, which was organised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and held on 26th January 2010 in the Queen’s University, Belfast.

Now in her third year of her PhD degree under the supervision of Dr Kenneth Stanton, Eilis’ presentation focused on Protein Absorption on Bioceramic Nanoparticles and was highly commended by a panel of judges, which included Dr Sergio Cellabos of Enterprise Ireland, Mr Chris Sturgess of Denroy Plastics and Mr David Bahrani, Head of Materials at Bombardier Aerospace.
