Professor Michael Gilchrist of the UCD School of Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical Engineering, was recently awarded a DEng higher doctorate degree from the University of Sheffield in recognition of his published work.
Professor Gilchrist is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM), and Engineers Ireland (FIEI) and has active research projects in the areas of head impact biomechanics, mechanics of soft biological tissue and was recently awarded significant funding to investigate micro-injection moulding of polymers.
