
Conferral of 1000th Student at Penang Medical College
A milestone in Ireland’s role as an international partner in medical education was reached today, with the conferral of the 1000th student from Penang Medical College (PMC), a joint venture between Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD).

UCD Medicine Conferring and Awarding of Honorary Degrees
On June 6th 2013, 177 undergraduate and graduate entry students of medicine were conferred with degrees. The ceremony, which took place at O'Reilly Hall, Belfield, also saw the awarding of honorary degrees to Tom Lynch and Professor Charlie Serhan.

Women who are socio-economically disadvantaged are 42% more likely than those in the highest income group to be obese following childbirth, according to researchers at University College Dublin (UCD) and the Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI).

Successful Exchange Programme Between UCD and University of Queensland

Professor Cormac Taylor Elected to Royal Irish Academy (RIA)
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in science, Professor Cormac Taylor, UCD School of Medicine & Medical Science, has been elected to the ranks of the Royal Irish Academy. This is the highest academic honour in Ireland.
