
NeuroSKILL Involvement in the UCD School of Medicine and Medical Science Student Summer Research Awards
The NeuroSKILL team were delighted to offer places to two SSRA students this summer. From over 30 applications two students were selected; Hannah Featherstone, a graduate entry to medicine (GEM) student and a qualified radiation therapist and Ian Kelly, a stage 4 undergraduate medicine student.
Dean and MedSoc Meet to Plan Student-led Activities
The Dean of Medicine met with representatives of the UCD Medical Society (UCD Med Soc) recently to discuss forthcoming student-facing activities over the coming academic year which include Med Day, Med Ball and the 2015 Clinical Commencement Ceremony.

Contemporary Issues in Hospital Practice (CIHP) 2014 - Abstracts Invited
Abstracts are invited for oral (10 minutes) and poster presentations to be made at the CIHP meeting on Thursday 6th November next. Clinical & Scientific submissions are welcome. A medal will be awarded to one winner in each category.

The Ileal Pouch, Then and Now - Professor P Ronan O'Connell to deliver 54th Robert Graves Lecture
The 54th Robert Graves Lecture 2014 will be delivered on Wednesday 17th September 2014 in the Corrigan Hall of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Professor P Ronan O’Connell will deliver the lecture, titled The Ileal Pouch, Then and Now.

Medical Traineeship in Anatomy - MSc, MD, MCh & PhD Scholarships
Applications are invited for a 1 year full-time Medical Traineeship in Anatomy (scholarship programme). Successful candidates will undertake a graduate research degree programme and gain experience teaching in small groups along with adding to their research portfolio.

Biomedical Engineering Meets Clinical Medicine
We are hosting an evening, open to all UCD staff and students with an interest in Biomedical Engineering, aimed at fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between engineers and clinicians. Contributors are invited to prepare 3 minute pitches on a relevant clinical challenge or their skill set.
