TCD & UCD Make THE Top 100 Subject Rankings
Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin have both secured places in the Times Higher Education Top 100 Subject Rankings of best academic faculties. UCD has been ranked 99th in the Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health Sciences category while TCD were ranked 74th in the Arts and Humanities subject index.
This is the first time an Irish university has broken into either Top 100 subject rankings and the first Irish Medical School ever to be included in this top tier. The rankings rate Universities according to the 13 performance indicators used by the Times Higher Education for its annual institutional rankings which place both TCD (160) and UCD (176) in the top 200 universities worldwide.
We are pleased to break into the top 100 and note that there are 2,409 medical schools across the globe. While rankings are increasingly important, we continue to be guided by the pursuit of improve healthcare in Ireland and around theworld by educating and training health professionals and biomedical scientists who together form a community that is driven by a commitment to service, enquiry and continuous health improvement.
Our Dean, Professor Patrick Murray was keen to acknowledge the contribution of other UCD Schools who contribute to the University's health sciences portfolio including the Schools of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems, Public Health, Physiotherapy & Population Science, Biomolecular & Biomedical Science, Chemistry, and Physics.
