'HelloUCDMedicine' - Meet current Undergraduate Entry Medicine students in our new video

Publication date: 2nd February 2021

UCD School of Medicine invites you to meet Roisin McGrath (Stage 4), Sarah Shanahan (Stage 5), Shauna Galligan (Stage 2) and Ned Quirke (Stage 4)* from the Undergraduate Entry Medicine programme in this new video featured on our YouTube channel.

These four students give us insights into why they choose to study medicine, their experiences of the programme at UCD, the opportunities they have availed of and the comprehensive supports on offer. They also give us insights into their hobbies and extra-curricular activities while in College, ensuring they enjoy a full and vibrant life on campus. Most importantly they offer advice to prospective students if you are considering a career in medicine.

Our School delivers Undergraduate and Graduate Medicine programmes by expert academic staff across a network of academic and clinical locations. We continually seek to improve our educational offerings based on feedback and educational best practice. We devote considerable attention to examining what is taught, how that knowledge is delivered and how student learning is best assessed, as clinical education is constantly evolving.

In addition patient participation and care is at the heart of our academic and educational philosophy and our students meet and interact with patients at the earliest possible stage and throughout their time at UCD as we continually question our graduates' preparedness to deliver society’s expectations of professional clinical staff.

UCD is a research-intensive global university with purpose, drive and ambition so let us take you on a rewarding journey of discovery and enquiry when you join a distinctly Irish university, with global impact.

*Please note that Roisin, Sarah, Shauna and Ned were interviewed for this video in August 2020 and all the footage reflecting campus life was filmed before the pandemic.
