The Muiris Fitzgerald Bursaries were established when Prof FitzGerald led a consortium of donors who provided a sizable charitable donation to support students and research at UCD School of Medicine and St Vincent's University Hospital. The donation is spread out over the course of 10 years and is administered by UCD School of Medicine and the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, St Vincent's University Hospital.
Professor Muiris FitzGerald was appointed Dean at UCD School of Medicine in Sept 2000. Muiris FitzGerald is Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics at UCD and was Professor of Medicine and Consultant Physician at SVUH (St Vincent's University Hospital) from 1977 to 2006.
