Our congratulations to Mr Asim Sheikh, Barrister at Law and Assistant Professor in Forensic and Legal Medicine at the UCD School of Medicine who has been appointed recently to two important advisory committees. The UCD academic has been appointed to the HIQA Advisory Group examing a Human Rights-based approach to heath and social care. He has also been appointed to the HSE Disability Service National Quality Improvement Sub-group on Restrictive Practice.
The Wellcome-HRB ICAT Programme is seeking to appoint its next cohort of well-qualified and ambitious individuals who aspire to become the next generation of clinical academic leaders. ICAT is opening for fellowship applications on the 13th Aug 19; the deadline for receipt of applications is the 24th Sept 19. The fellowship interviews will take place in Dublin on 4th and 5th Dec 19. Successful candidates will take up their fellowships in July 2020.
UCD has announced the second call of the funding scheme for the UCD Medical Humanities and Social Sciences community. The scheme aims to support high-quality research within humanities and/ or social sciences that addresses any aspect of health.
