The Irish Network of Medical Educators (INMED) seks enhance medical education on the island of Ireland by bringing together individuals and organisations with an interest in and responsibilities in medical and healthcare education in a national medical education network.
The group hold annual scientific meetings across partner institutions. UCD hosted a highly successful meeting in February 2013 and the 7th Annual INMED Scientific Meeting will be held at Queen's University Belfast from 19th - 21st February 2014.
INMED are preparing to re-launch their newsletter and would like to hear from you.
- Are there interesting and important lines of research that you would like to publicise and perhaps locate collaborators for?
- Are there innovations in our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes that you would like to publicise and share best practice?
- Have you won an award or achieved international acclaim in some form?
- Have you visited another institution and have some insights to share?
If you have a news item, event or new innovation that you would like to publicise, send a brief description (between 2 and 400 words with photographs if you have them) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Educational Research & Travel Grants
INMED are also inviting applications from healthcare educators of all disciplines and from undergraduate students for small educational research and travel grants.
The maximum award per individual or project will be €1,500 or equivalent (bids for smaller amounts of funding will of course be considered). As the purpose of these small research grants is to support research and innovation in healthcare education, only grants that meet the grant criteria will be accepted.
Travel grant scheme
Applicants may apply for grants of up to €1000 (or equivalent) to support travel and/or registration costs associated with healthcare education conferences, training, events or visits to host institutions for the purposes of furthering educational research collaboration. Up to two awards are available annually.
