Emerging Diagnostics in Modern Care Pathways

The Association of Clinical Biochemists in Ireland (ACBI) and the Irish College of Radiologists host a diagnostic conference to be held in Dublin (Radisson Blu, Golden Lane) on September 30th 2016 (programme attached).  

Invited speakers include international leading figures in Endocrine Hypertension, Prostate Cancer and Genetics and Next Generation Sequencing:

  • Prof. Howard Jacob (USA)
  • Prof. Morris Brown (UK)
  • Prof. Eamon Maher (UK)
  • Mr. Hashim Ahmed (UK) 

Key Question to be addressed:

Will diagnostic developments over the next 5 years improve patient management and outcome in endocrine hypertension and prostate cancer?

The meeting is funded by the HSE and the aim is to address the current diagnosis (including shortcomings in diagnosis) and future developments in biochemical, molecular science and diagnostic imaging in the following areas, endocrine hypertension/adrenal disease and prostate cancer.

Clinical Biochemists/NCHDs/Healthcare Professionals are encouraged to submit a case which poses challenging imaging, biochemical, molecular/pathological diagnosis (application form attached, submit by 23rd Sept ‘16). 2-3 cases will be selected for oral presentation and expert panel discussion in each of the topic areas and the Lonsdale medal and €250 will be awarded to the best overall presentation.
