UCD is prepared for continued in-person teaching in the Spring Trimester of 2021–22, and this shall include lectures, seminars, tutorials and rehearsals. No immediate changes shall be made on foot of the most recent government announcements on January 20th 2022, and we shall continue to observe basic safety measures as below.

All staff and students must wear masks on campus, and if teaching staff need to remove their masks for any reason, they will only do so in classrooms where they are able to achieve a safe distance of two metres away from students. Numbers of students in classrooms and university buildings will be monitored and managed, that classrooms will be cleaned and ventilated to minimise risks, and that sanitising stations will be provided around our buildings and in classrooms to allow staff and students to maintain good hygiene. We will do everything we can to ensure that this is a safe environment for our community, and we ask all staff and students to do the same. The most effective way you can do this is to take the COVD-19 vaccine, unless you have been advised not to on medical grounds. For music performance/rehearsals, you shall be given specific guidance about this by our ensemble directors.

As before, if you feel unwell, or experience any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (such as a new and persistent cough, shortness of breath, high temperature, a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste), you should not come to campus. Please stay at home and follow public health advice. For those students unable to attend campus because of illness, replacement learning activities and materials will be made available on Brightspace. This may include presentation slides, worksheets, directed learning activities, or recorded materials. Module coordinators will advise students what materials will be available to make up for missed classes. Please also note that some classes may need to be rescheduled, cancelled, or moved online at short notice if there are staff absences due to illness or medical conditions.

Advice about the public health measures on campus can be found at the following link: https://www.ucd.ie/covid-19/faqs/faqsfortaughtstudents/
