FDI: What’s the forecast? - A seminar on the future of foreign direct investment in Ireland

As part of the “Growing Ireland” event series, this seminar – ‘FDI: What’s the Forecast?’ will examine the key challenges and opportunities for FDI in a more globally competitive market place. The keynote speaker is Dr Robert J. Shapiro, Chairman of Sonecon, acclaimed author of Futurecast 2020, and former US Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs (1997-2001). “Ireland is not the beacon it once was for foreign direct investment - a concerted effort to innovate and maximise on its strengths is now needed.”

The headline interview is with Dr. Michael Kamarck, Executive VP of Wyeth, who is responsible for operations at thirteen international manufacturing facilities. His unique global and local knowledge of FDI in action will be essential listening for anyone involved with multinational corporations in Ireland. Finally, there will be an interactive panel discussion chaired by Olivia O’Leary, with some of Ireland’s leading experts from Intel, CRH, Citibank and University College Dublin.
