UCD Healthy Eating Week

The #UCDFOOD team is made up of the School' of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science and the School of Agriculture and Food Science undergraduate and postgraduate Nutrition students, and research, academic and catering staff. The #UCDFOOD project is supported by the UCD SPARC initiative. The aim of #UCDFOOD is to develop a sustainable annual initiative to improve the UCD healthy eating culture. The focus of the 2017 #UCDFOOD project will be a healthy eating week which will take place across UCD campus from the 13th to the 17th of February. The #UCDFOOD team will run a campus-wide healthy eating awareness initiative using social media, hold interactive information sessions, lunchtime talks and other events. A “UCD Healthy Option” will be served daily in participating restaurants to encourage behaviour change. The impact of the #UCDFOOD project will be assessed based on the uptake of the “UCD Healthy Option” in restaurants as well as social media metrics.
