Each building has its own characteristics and for some buildings designated access and egress points have been identified, whilst in other buildings this is not possible.

Managed circulation protocols including designated pedestrian flow lanes have been put in place in buildings, where possible. However, many University buildings do not lend themselves to ‘one way’ systems by virtue of their layout. Consequently, in many University buildings, there will be two-way pedestrian flow. In such buildings, the University is applying a ‘keep left’ approach to pedestrian movement and all building users are asked to adhere to this approach. Circulation advice and the direction of travel will be clearly signposted at the entrances to the University buildings.
