Portuguese is a global language:

  • with approximately 260 million speakers of Portuguese in the world.
  • spoken in countries on four continents.
  • listed as the sixth most spoken language in the world, the most spoken language in the whole Southern hemisphere and the 5th most “spoken” language on the Internet.
  • Portuguese is the official and/or working language of several international organizations, such as the European Union (EU), African Union (AU), UNESCO & Mercosul.
