(opens in a new window)DIRECTIONS TO DUBLIN CITY CENTRE AND TO UCD FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT:

Dublin Airport is served by all major airlines (excluding Easyjet). Popular low-cost options are Aer Lingus and Ryanair. You can search for flights here https://www.skyscanner.net/

  • Aircoach ((opens in a new window)http://www.aircoach.ie) operates a bus service direct from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre and to UCD (route 700 to Leopardstown/Sandyford, ask to get off at UCD Slip Road stop). Between 3.30am and 12.30 am, the bus runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately 30  minutes to Dublin city centre and 45 minutes to UCD. Tickets can be bought directly from the driver (16 EUR return) or can be bought in advance online (14 EUR return).
  • A taxi from Dublin Airport to UCD will cost approximately 35 EUR and the journey takes around 30 minutes.

(opens in a new window)DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN CITY CENTRE TO UCD:

Bus: The UCD Belfield campus is served by a number of bus routes and the journey takes approximately 15 minutes. From the city centre, services 39A (to UCD), 46A (direction Dun Laoghaire) and 145 (direction Ballywaltrim) stop on Nassau Street (at Trinity College opposite Easons). Please note that the 39A service enters UCD campus and the 46A and 145 services stop outside at the UCD flyover. The fare from the city centre is currently EUR2.70 (correct change needed). Cheaper fares are available if you use a Leap Card (available for purchase and top up at the airport and newsagents throughout the city), which is valid on Dublin Bus, local rail and tram services. See (opens in a new window)www.leapcard.ie for further information.

Taxi: A taxi from Dublin city centre to UCD will cost approximately 10 EUR. The FreeNow (opens in a new window)https://free-now.com/ie/ app allows you to book a taxi in advance, easily hail a taxi, and pay via the app. (Uber doesn’t operate in Ireland.)

Car: Car parking for visitors on UCD campus is extremely limited during term time and we would not advise any delegates to drive to UCD, unless absolutely necessary. Hotels / B&Bs in Donnybrook (between city and campus ca. 10-15 mins bus-ride from campus)

Aside from these options, hotel booking sites such as booking.com or hotels.com have a wide range of options at a range of different prices. The central area of Dublin city is located around Trinity College, Grafton Street, and St. Stephen’s Green. There are a number of hostels in the city centre offering budget accommodation.
