Student Immigration Bulletin - April 2023

Our series of Student Immigration Support Talks commenced in March and runs up until December 2023. The Talks have been very well attended so far with lots of engagement from students and student support staff. The posters for both staff and student sessions are attached and all registration links can be found (opens in a new window)here. Please feel free to circulate these posters and links to students and colleagues. We are also open to suggestions for future immigration talks or if you would like to request a specific session for a cohort of students or staff that you work with, please let me know by responding to this email.

Appointment Availability for Schengen Travel Limited - appointments for submitting Schengen C visa applications are extremely limited as the volume of applications has increased and will continue to increase approaching the peak tourist season in the (opens in a new window)Schengen Area from May to August. International students who need to travel to another EU country for internships, exchanges, events, etc should plan in advance as much as possible for upcoming travel to the Schengen Area.

New Stamp 1G permission FAQs - please take a moment to read through  a new FAQ section dedicated to the Third Level Graduate Programme/Stamp 1G permission also known as “studentstay-back visa. We hope this will help colleagues and students with their most common queries.

New non-EEA students working rights page -  the “Working in Ireland” web-page on the UCD Global website has been updated  to provide more comprehensive information regarding the rights and conditions of the international students' permissions when it comes to working in Ireland. This page can be helpful for both students and potential employers so please feel free to share as appropriate.

Student Immigration bookable appointments - I continue to offer bookable appointment slots for student support staff and students who need assistance with immigration. These appointments are available online and in-person and can be booked(opens in a new window) here. This link is also on my email signature and can be shared with colleagues and students.

(opens in a new window)The Facebook group for Student Immigration Support continues to grow. Please feel free to join this group or to continue including reference to it in communications with students and partners.

I hope this keeps everyone informed of the immigration supports which are currently in place through UCD Global. If you would like to be added or removed from this mailing list, please let me know. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of  further assistance.

Kind regards,
