How to Get Involved in Club Sport 2020

01 Sep 2020

There are 54 sports clubs to choose from that are for the most part student-run and student-led. Clubs provide a huge range of opportunities to train, play and compete in sport, no matter what your passion, ability or level.

In 2020/21 to reflect the COVID 19 procedures of the national governing body of each sport, all club operations in UCD are being amended.  Club operations  will also reflect best practice as dictated by Sport Ireland, the HSE and the University.  Ultimately any changes implemented are in place are for your safety. However, club sport will continue to be available to all students, staff and recent graduates of the University.

UCD sports clubs will remain at the centre of campus life in UCD. So, whether you want to keep fit, learn new skills or meet people with similar interests, there is a club for you.

Given the restrictions on numbers at events, the Sports Expo will not take place this year.  Instead the focus for clubs will be on online/virtual recruitment of club members. Some clubs are also holding trials (prior registration required).  Full details of all the clubs are provided below including their websites, email addresses and social media pages. Click to Open Table

In addition, our clubs have created their own recruitment videos available at our YouTube Channel. These videos introduce you to current members, give you a sneak peek into what it’s like to be a member of the club and where, how and when you can join!

The UCD Sport Facebook, Twitterand Instagramwill provide daily updates about all club activity in the lead up to and during term. We encourage you to follow the pages to find out what’s happening in all the clubs including training, trials, match fixtures and competitions etc.

There is a club for everyone in UCD.  So whether you want to play, coach, get involved at committee level or do all three, now is your chance.  So make the most of your time in UCD, have fun and get involved in a club.

Should you have any questions about a club you can contact them directly or email
