Health and Safety Changes 2022

 

Covid Certificate Required from 7th December 2021 - 9th January 2022.

To comply with the Government’s Covid 19 Health Measures announced on December 2nd, which state, "you must have proof of immunity to access gyms, leisure centres, restaurants and hotel bars". UCD Sport & Fitness members will be required to present a valid "proof of immunity" certificate in order to gain access to the club facilities:

Please present one of the two relevant certificates below at the main reception when accessing the club;

  1. Certificate based on vaccination.
  2. Certificate based on recovery.

Certificate-based on vaccination

This certificate is issued if a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19. If the HSE has a valid email address for that person from the vaccination process – they will get a Digital COVID Certificate by email. Otherwise, they will get their certificate via post.

Certificate-based on recovery

A certificate of recovery will be available from 11 days after a positive test and will be valid for no more than 180 days after a person has tested positive.

Accessing UCD Sport & Fitness

If you are accessing with a certificate based on "vaccination" or "recovery", once your certificate is verified, you can access the club as normal without being required to present the certificate again.

Whilst in the building and the pool, follow the operator’s guidance on social distancing, direction of travel and other risk control measures that are put in place.

This is a working document and it is expected that some changes may be added, removed or modified in line with government guidelines.

Swimming Pool Guidelines:

  • All users must pre shower before entering the pool.
  • Please always ensure to follow social distancing guidelines
  • The pool will be in double lane format to ensure social distancing.
  • Please always follow staff instructions
  • There will be a max of 12 swimmers per double lane.
  • Max bather capacity for the main pool is reduced to 60.
  • Choose your lane using the fast, medium, and slow signs and by watching those already swimming.
  • Please do not overtake whilst swimming. Before pushing off at each turn, check to see if anyone faster is approaching.
  • Please follow the directional signs and move across to the appropriate side of the lane for each length.
  • Exhale under the water where possible
  • Whether stopping for a rest or catching your breath after completing your swim, please be mindful that others using the lane will want to keep on swimming without stopping. As such, keep yourself to the edge of the lane allowing others to turn at the wall, turning your head away and allow others to maintain social distancing measures.
  • No equipment will be available to borrow please ensure to bring your own
  • Stay hydrated by bringing your own pre filled water bottle.
  • Please ensure children are supervised to keep to the distancing guidelines from other customers whilst in the facility of the pool.

 

Changing Areas

To reduce time spent in changing areas please consider the following guidance:

  • Please come "Beach ready". Swimsuit under clothes to minimise time needed in changing areas.
  • Please limit showering duration. 
  • Lost property storage is no longer in operation. Please ensure personal items are not left behind in the changing areas. Items left behind will not be stored. Members are fully responsibile for their personal belongings.
  • Practice social distancing at all times.
  • No hairdryers are allowed.

 

Speed & Overtaking in the Pool

  • Choose your lane using the fast, medium, and slow signs and by watching those already swimming.

Pool Equipment

  • No Equipment will be available to borrow
  • Please follow the operator’s guidance on the use of any equipment.
  • Use of Snorkels are not permitted.

 

Resting in the Pool

  • Whether stopping for a rest or catching your breath after completing your swim, please be mindful that others using the lane will want to keep on swimming without stopping. As such, keep yourself to the edge of the lane allowing others to turn at the wall, turning your head away and allow others to maintain social distancing measures.
  • Stay hydrated by bringing your own ‘pre-filled’ water bottle on to the pool deck during your swim.

 

Family Swimming Space

  • Please ensure you and your children observe the 2m distancing guidelines from other customers whilst in the facility and the pool

 

Changing Village Guidelines:

  • Please always ensure to follow social distancing guidelines
  • Please ensure cough and sneezing etiquette
  • Please use hand sanitizer supplied
  • Please use our spray and wipe stations to wipe down cubicles and lockers before and after each use.
  • Please come "Beach ready". Swimsuit under clothes to minimise time needed in changing Village.
  • Please limit showering duration to minimise time needed in Changing Village.
  • Buggy storage is available by contacting the Duty Manager. 
  • Lost property storage is no longer in operation. Please ensure personal items are not left behind in the changing areas. Items left behind will not be stored. Members are fully responsibile for their personal belongings.

 

Fitness Class Studio Rules

  • Strictly no towel no entry policy.
  • All 3 studio floors have been marked to enforce social distancing.
  • Participants may only set up their station on designated markings – no exceptions.
  • We ask participants not to queue for classes, please arrive 5 minutes before class, steralise your hands and enter the studio straight away.
  • Please book into your class using your phone
  • Stay hydrated by bringing your own pre filled water bottle.
  • We ask all members and students to steralise studio equipment before and after use.
  • Please be patient and respect one anothers space when setting up and putting back equipment.
  • Studio doors will be locked after every class to ensure studios remain clean between classes.

 

Gym Floor

  • Physical distancing must be adhered to on the gym floor.
  • Members must santise their hands before entry to the gym.
  • Stay hydrated by bringing your own pre filled water bottle.
  • You must wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • ‘Working in’ or sharing of machines is not permitted, when one gym user is finished with the machine he/she will need to sanitise the unit before the next user may begin.
  • Management have the right to restrict access to both the Main and Performance gym to prevent overcrowding.
  • Gym program cards cannot be stored in the gym.
  • There is no use of studios allowed between classes.
  • Members must follow studio floor markings to ensure physical distancing.
  • You must sanitize studio equipment before and after use.

8am - 6.30pm Weekends Last entry 60 mins before close. Facilities stop 30 mins before close.
