UCD Student Advisers

The Student Advisers provide support for all students throughout their university experience, particularly during their first year. They work closely with the administrative and academic staff as well as with the chaplains and other support staff. Student Advisers are present to help you make your time at UCD as fulfilling and enjoyable as possible. You can call them in relation to personal, social, or practical issues. UCD Student Desk

The Student Desk can help you with a wide range of queries. You can arrange an appointment to visit them in the Tierney building, call them on the phone, chat with them via an instant message or send them a message through their Connector. Some of the topics you can ask them about are:

UCD Students' Union Welfare officer

The Welfare Officer should be your first port of call for any financial problems, health issues, or just a casual place to knock in with a query. There is help in the form of Welfare Funds, referrals, and generally useful information. Visit the UCDSU Welfare web page here

 

UCD Chaplaincy

We all need a listening ear at times, someone who will not sit in judgment on us, but just be there to offer support and care or practical help, in complete confidence. A problem shared is a problem solved! You can talk to them 7 days a week. Visit the Chaplaincy website here

 

UCD Student Health & Counselling 

The Student Health & Counselling Service provides on-campus medical, psychological, and psychiatric care to registered students of the university. The service is located above the Student Union Office and includes services such as​; routine appointments, urgent GP appointments, general counselling, alcohol and addiction counselling, nurse and doctor-led sexual health clinics, screening and vaccination for incoming health care students, psychiatric care, contraceptive clinics, travel clinics and sports clinic. All consultations with the doctor are by appointment only. Please contact the service by telephone on 01 716 3133 or call into the Student Health Service to make an appointment. UCD Writing Centre 

UCD Writing Centre provides free, one-to-one tuition and a range of workshops on all aspects of the writing process. Their mission is to offer free, high-quality tuition in writing to all undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in improving their writing skills. They offer one-to-one tuition and a range of workshops/seminars. Writing tutors are friendly and non-judgemental, and the sessions are student-centred and inquiry-driven. They strive to ensure that students are helped to communicate, structure, and present their knowledge and ideas in a written format, and that their expertise and critical thinking skills are not diminished by either fear of, or difficulties with, aspects of the writing process. UCD Maths Support Centre

The UCD Maths Support Centre (MSC) aims to enhance your knowledge of mathematics and guide you to becoming a more self-directed learner. Whether you feel totally lost or are perhaps seeking to reach a higher grade then the MSC is the place to come. Most importantly, the MSC is staffed by dedicated and experienced tutors who can offer individual support in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied and Computational Maths (ACM), or any other numerate subject such as Architecture, Economics, Engineering or Nursing where problems can arise due to a lack of mathematical understanding. Visit the UCD Maths Support Centre web page here

  

UCD Library 

The UCD library, composed of five separate bodies, has varied ranges of digital and printed books on a wide range of topics.
