All new residents living on the Blackrock Campus must first proceed to the Proby Hall Residence Office for initial check-in and student UCARD collection.

All incoming International Students not staying in UCD Residences will collect their student UCARD from the International Office upon arrival, as part of their Orientation.

Photo Upload

All students must upload a photo on-line via SISWeb during registration.

A photo upload deadline has been put in place this year, and the final cut-off point is Wednesday 10th January 2018 at 5pm. It is essential that you remember to upload a photo of yourself, as this will be needed for your Student UCARD. If your photo is not uploaded before this time, you may experience delays in receiving your UCARD.

Preparing your photo

When prompted, you will be able to browse your computer to find a suitable image file.  This should be a .jpg file with a size of no more than 50Kb.

The image should be taken in colour and show your full head with your eyes open and clearly visible (with no sunglasses, tinted glasses or hair across your face). You should be face fronting and looking directly into the camera.

Your head and/or face should not be covered. Hats and head coverings must not be worn, unless it is worn daily for religious beliefs or medical reasons. However, your full face must be clearly visible and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.

There should be no other person in the photograph. You will have the opportunity to confirm that the image is correct before sending this to the University. If you wear glasses please ensure the photo is free from reflection or glare on your glasses and the frames should not cover your eyes. See below for sample does and donts for your photos.
