The John Kelly Awards are back and bigger than ever!

We've been busily working behind the scenes with AHEAD to redevelop and redesign the John Kelly Awards for Universal Design in Further and Higher Education. The awards recognise the innovative practice of those teaching staff/faculty in further and higher education engaging with the UDL framework to deliver a more inclusive learning experience for their students.

As the Digital Badge for Universal Design in Teaching & Learning has expanded, specifically in light of the large national rollouts, the John Kelly Awards now have a much wider pool of potential applicants. Expanding the Awards will allow us to showcase the fantastic work of colleagues right across the sector. There was originally only one individual awarded as the applicant pool was relatively small.

We are now expanding the awards with three categories: one individual award in Higher Education, one in Further Education & Training, and one for UDL in Collaboration. This final category is aimed at institutions who have used the Digital Badge to systematically develop UDL capacity in their college/centre, such as the development of communities of practice, institutional projects and new strategic actions.

Applications open on 25 April with the final event in October. Find out how to apply here.
