Current Research:

Effects of local anaesthesia and anti-inflammatory drugs on pain responses of bull calves to surgical castration (Teagasc and UCD); effects of repeated ovum pick-up on the acute and chronic pain responses in dairy cows. Investigating measures of metabolic stress in dairy cows (Irish Life); a survey of the welfare of Greyhounds in Ireland and Britain (Blue Cross, RSPCA, NCDL, SSPCA, The Dogs' Home, Battersea); an assessment of mixed species housing as a method of enriching the social environment of laboratory rabbits and guinea pigs (UFAW).
