Principles of Nanomedicine published by Sourav Bhattacharjee

Congratulations to Sourav Bhattacharjee from our Veterinary Biosciences section on the publication of his new book 'Principles of Nanomedicine' which explores the wide applications of nanotechnology as an enabling technology in many aspects of modern medicine. It has a major focus on drug delivery systems and emerging areas of interest including medical imaging, diagnostics and regenerative medicine.

Nanoscale materials, often with a size of <100 nano-metres, are extremely reactive species demonstrating many fundamental and unique properties. In the last two decades, there has been an explosion of interest into the properties of nano-particles and these are being exploited for benefits to humanity. In this book, Sourav provides a comprehensive review on many such nano-particle prototypes, such as liposomes, carbon nanotubes, polymeric nanoparticles, all currently being investigated for medicinal purposes. The book chapters also provide exercises with answer keys to the multiple-choice questions and would be particularly helpful for undergraduate students and early career researchers.
