Business Studies (Part-Time)

Programme Overview

The part-time Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) have been designed to be flexible, allowing you to study part-time while continuing to pursue career goals. If you are a mature student wishing to complete a business qualification part-time while working full-time, then this is the programme for you.

The programme is completed in two parts:

  1. Level 7 Diploma in Business Studies (Years 1-2)
  2. Level 8 Bachelor of Business Studies (Years 3-4)

If you have a previous Business qualification, you may be eligible to enter directly into year 3 based on Recognition of Prior Learning.

You will attend face-to-face classes once a month, with an additional two hours online each month. In total, you will attend the UCD Belfield Campus for six Fridays over the academic year (excluding exams).

Our students travel from all over Ireland, and abroad, to attend campus lectures delivered by leading experts. The campus experience is considered a key component of the programme where you can interact with your classmates and lecturers and avail of the University's facilities.

If you decide to take up a place on our programme, you will be appointed a Programme Manager who will be your main point of contact throughout your studies. Our Programme Manager, Dr Kate Collins, provides experienced academic support to students on our programmes.

To speak with a member of staff in relation to any queries you may have, or for further information, email: bbs@ucd.ie
