UCD MR Strategy Meeting
The next UCD Medicine Research Strategy meeting will take place on Tuesday 3rd December 2013 from 16:30 to 18:00 at the UCD Charles Boardroom Charles Institute.
Following our last meeting on the 6th November 2013 and our research strategy to increase connectivity between clinical and non-clinical research within UCD aligned with funding opportunities, we are convening a second meeting to discuss areas of research interest and in particular the area of Connected Health, which arose from our first meeting and in light of the recent Horizons 20:20 EU funding call.
As such we have invited Prof Brian Caulfield who is currently the Director of the TRIL Centre and a Principal Investigator in the CLARITY Centre for Sensor Web Technology in UCD. He is also a Principal Investigator in INSIGHT, a new national data analytics research centre that is funded by Science Foundation Ireland. INSIGHT brings together 5 existing Irish research centres, including TRIL and CLARITY, to provide significant capability in terms of application of data analytics technologies and tools to the field of Connected Health. Since March 2013, he is the lead Investigator in the ARCH (Applied Research for Connected Health) Centre, an industry facing technology centre that has been funded by Enterprise Ireland and IDA to provide cross cutting research capability for the benefit of Irish industry in the Connected Health sector.
We have invited Prof. Caulfield to brief us on these initiatives and potentially explore areas for future research and collaboration.
Attendance is limited so booking is essential. Please indicate your availability to firstname.lastname@example.org only.
