The UCD Intern Career Advice Day will take place on Saturday 17th November 2018 in the UCD Catherine McAuley Education & Research Centre. With keynote presentations from a large academic and clinical faculty and series of practice interviews, we hope that our Interns find the event helpful in advance of their forthcoming BST applications.

The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and the Mater Private Hospital are holding a study day on MRI scanning of patients with pacemarkers and ICD's in situ. The study day takes place on Thursday 15th November 2018 at the UCD Catherine McAuley Education & Research Centre, Nelson Street. The aim of this event is to encourage hospital sites with a cardiology and radiology department in situ to carry out MRI scans on patients with MR conditional pacemakers and ICDs in situ.
UCD Women at STEM, a network supporting UCD women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to reach their full potential at any stage of their career, will be launched on the 12th November 2018 from 3pm to 5pm in the Moore Auditorium, UCD O'Brien Centre for Science. A panel of speakers will discuss the challenges and good practices to support gender equality within academia. This event is free but registration is required.
A trans-disciplinary engagement forum entitled 'Debating Ageing' takes place at 6pm on Mon 19 Nov 18 in the George Moore Auditorium, UCD O’Brien Centre for Science. This free event is jointly presented by the UCD Humanities Institute, UCD Centre for the History of Medicine in Ireland, UCD Conway Institute, UCD Institute for Discovery, UCD Geary Institute, and UCD HRB Ignite Connect Programme.
The UCD Graduate Entry Medicine Open Evening will take place on 29th November 2018 from 5.15pm - 7.15pm. Admission to the Open Evening is free, but prebooking is essential. The School of Psychotherapy at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and UCD School of Medicine will hold a two-day international conference on 30th November – 1st December 2018 in UCD Belfield, Dublin. The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland hold their annual Spike Milligan Public Speaking Competition on Wed 28 Nov 18 at 6:30pm in The Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin. The competition aims to raise awareness of mental health issues among the general public, and to foster and promote communications skills among doctors in training.
The Molecular & Computational Biology Symposium 2018 will be held at the UCD Conway Institute on Wed 28th and Thurs 29th Nov 18. This popular symposium is jointly organised by PhD students from the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology and Computational Infection Biology programmes.
