Challenges in Managing Inflammatory Bowel Disease in 2017

Welcome to the 24th annual scientific meeting organised by the Centre for Colorectal Disease at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and the School of Medicine, University College Dublin. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Challenges in managing Inflammatory BowelDisease in 2017” and the programme will provide a succinct overview of recent advances inmultidisciplinary management of IBD. We are most grateful to all of the local, national and international speakers who have agreed to participate. It is with particular pleasurethat we welcome friends and colleagues from both sides of the Atlantic.

Dr. Bo Shen from the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio will deliver our annual state of the art lecture. The intention is that the programme will be of interest to all members of the multidisciplinary team, including colorectal surgeons, gastroenterologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncologists, research scientists, specialised nurses and allied health care workers. With this in mind we have again organised a number of associated clinical and research sessions of interest to particular groups. We recognise the support of our meeting sponsors who make these additional sessions possible.
