Accredited Module for Tutors, Demonstrators and Teaching Assistants 13.11.18

UCD Teaching and Learning offers a five ECTS blended learning module for tutors, demonstrators, teaching assistants and others who support the teaching of accredited modules at UCD. This module will run twice in the academic year 2018-19, once in semester one and again in semester two and is open to UCD post graduate students working as tutors in UCD who meet the eligibility criteria. 

UTL 40230: Introduction to University Teaching and Learning for Tutors, Demonstrators and TAs

Participants undertaking this UCD Level 4 (Masters) module are expected to be able to review educational literature in the field of teaching and learning, reflect on their teaching practice in the classroom, and explore strategies to enhance the student learning experience.

Participants will work collaboratively, share experiences and participate in individual and group tasks. They are required to attend each of the four face-to-face sessions scheduled in semester, one tutorial and complete a series of online activities in Blackboard.

Module requirement:

This is an in-service teaching development module. Module participants must have a minimum of 12 contact hours tutoring/demonstrating in the academic year in which they undertake this module.

To register for this module you must complete a module registration form which is available from your School Office after agreement with the module co-ordinator, David Jennings,  and your supervisor. This form should be returned to your School Office who will register you to the module.
