In early 2001, the Governing Authority debated the problems perceived to be associated with the consumption of alcohol on campus. 

The membership of the Group was as follows:

Mr Paul Burke (Entertainments Officer of the Students� Union 2000-2001)
Mr Eoin Holohan (Entertainments Officer of the Students� Union 2001-2001)
Mr Paul Brady (representing Societies 2000-2001)
Mr Brian Flanagan (representing Societies 2001-2002)
Mr Paddy O�Flynn, Rapporteur

The group held 8 meetings. Its recommendations were accepted by the Governing Authority at its March meeting.
