Elemental Microanalysis

The Microanalytical Laboratory provides an elemental analysis service to the School of Chemistry,  the wider UCD research community and is open to sample submission from other academic institutions and industry.


The elements analysed are primarily carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen but also halogens, sulphur, phosphorous and certain metals.

Instrumentation


The laboratory is equipped with an Exeter Analytical CE 440 elemental analyser, Oxygen flask combustion equipment, a high precision Sartorius Ultra-Microbalance, a Varian 55B Spectra AA Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and various Metrohm titrators.
