Protocol for Reporting Campus Accessibility Concerns

UCD is committed to ensuring the UCD campus is accessible for all members of the UCD community. The University’s current approach to accessibility and inclusion of the built environment is grounded in national policy such as national guidelines for university design. All new buildings are designed with universal design principles at the core. For existing buildings, accessibility audits and accessible minor works projects facilitate the retrofitting of buildings to ensure accessibility is improved on a continuous basis. The purpose of this document is to outline the protocol for:
- Reporting and managing maintenance issues that affect campus accessibility.
- Providing advance notice when building works can affect campus accessibility.
Maintenance issues that affect accessibility and cannot be rectified in a short period of time, will now be notified to campus users via the UCD Estate Services webpage – Accessibility Impact Notices (to be linked to ALL). This will provide all relevant information for campus users. UCD Estate Services will publish these Accessibility Impact Notices (AIN) through the Services Announcements page.
