Safe Walk

The "UCD Walk Safe Service" is designed to assist the UCD Community by providing walking escort services from one campus location to another. Members of the UCD Security team are fully licensed by the Private Security Authority and will provide the safety escort to students and staff.

Who can use the service?

Any member of the UCD Community who wishes to be assisted with this added level of security and safety after hours.

How do I request the "UCD Walk Safe Service"

Contact Campus Services by calling 01 716 7000 and request the “UCD Walk Safe Service”. Please provide the following information:

  • Your name.
  • Your location.
  • A contact telephone number.
  • Your on-campus destination.

A security officer will be assigned and will meet with you at the location you have specified.
Security personnel can be identified by their uniforms; they carry two-way radios and are in continuous contact with the Campus Services Control Room.

Please be at the location when the security officer arrives. The officer may wait for a few minutes, but a “No Show” will negatively impact the ability we have to provide this service in a prompt and efficient manner.

The "UCD Safe Walk Service" is available on a 24/7 basis though availability may be limited due to operational demand. Please consider contacting the service 15 minutes before you plan to avail of it.
