Mapping Frontiers, Plotting Pathways: Routes to Cooperation on a Divided Island - Two-day conference hosted by the Insitute for British-Irish Studies - Jan 19- 20 2006

The Institute for British-Irish Studies is co-hosting the up-coming two-day conference in the Armagh City Hotel on 19th and 20th January. The conference which has the same title as the IBIS project Mapping Frontiers, Plotting Pathways: Routes to Cooperation on a Divided Island, is a collaboration between UCD, QUB and the Centre for Cross Border Studies.

Highlights will include the visiting international speakers, Brendan O’Leary, who holds the Lauder Professorship of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, and Joseph Heyman, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Texas at El Paso. The conclusions of this two-year project will be presented by John Coakley (UCD), Liam O’Dowd (QUB), Elizabeth Meehan (QUB), James Anderson (CIBR, QUB), Kieran Rankin (UCD), Andy Pollak (CCBS), Robin Wilson(Democratic Dialogue) and many others.
