Sofya Anisimova

Sofya Anisimova

Sofya Anisimovais currently a PhD student at the University of St Andrews and is working with Prof. Robert Gerwarth on the ERC Advanced Grant project CivilWars. She holds MA degrees in History of War from King’s College London and the Higher School of Economics (Moscow). Her postgraduate research is primarily dedicated to Russia’s engagement with the Entente in 1914-1917 and aspects of coalition military strategy. Her broader research interests also include theory of strategy and aspects of social history of the First World War, and she has authored papers on questions of veterans of the First World War in Soviet Russia and in emigration, and memory of the Russian Expeditionary Force.
