The UCD Centre for Asia-Pacific Research is the university’s only hub for knowledge production and exchange focused on the Asia-Pacific.
The Centre's principal objective is to enhance the connectivity and visibility of cutting-edge research on the Asia-Pacific by UCD faculty and colleagues globally. It represents an interdisciplinary and international interface between academic communities in Ireland and the wider world.
Centre faculty have been specialising in research on the Asia-Pacific and are mostly in the College of Arts & Humanities and the College of Social Sciences & Law.
This distinguishes the UCD Centre for Asia-Pacific Research from our friends at the UCD Centre for Japanese Studies.
Our Centre's strategic goals are not only to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and of critical debate about this vast region but also to contribute actively, substantively and effectively to the UCD Strategy 2025-30, "Breaking Boundaries".
