Are you interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and developing your research through creative practice?

The Earth Institute is working with researchers in the College of Arts and Humanities on this UCD Research Culture ReCLAIM funded project led by Sarah Comyn (English, Drama and Film and Earth Institute member) with co-applicants P.J. Mathews, Katherine Fama, Caitriona Devery and Nicolas Pillai.

‘Embedding Creative Practice as Research’ aims to build a vibrant, pluralistic, cross disciplinary, local research culture that fosters open-exchange and welcomes the new perspectives generated at the intersection of creative and critical praxis.

The project is seeking expressions of interest from academics with the UCD College of Arts and Humanities and the Earth Institute to participate in a series of Autumn workshops designed to create opportunities for academics and creative practitioners to meet, pitch their ideas to each other, identify and discuss shared ambitions and accomplishments, and brainstorm future events, activities, and diverse outputs together.

A small internal grants programme will run as part of this project. It will support interdisciplinary teams with a creative partner to develop their own creative research project. It is a requirement that applicants for the grants will have participated in the three Autumn workshops.

The workshops are planned for the following dates: 19 September, 17 October, and 21 November.
