(opens in a new window)Fabiola Schneider is our first speaker for this term's seminar series here at the Energy Institute. Fabiola is an Assistant Professor in Accountancy with the UCD School of Business and her current research addresses the climate emergency and sustainable transitions.
Her PhD thesis at the University College Dublin (UCD) Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School revolved around ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐.
This research is complemented with policy related work. Fabiola was appointed as a member of the ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ค๐๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐๐๐๐) Sustainability Standing Committee and the ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐๐จ๐ฅ Scope 3 Technical Working Group. For the last two mandates, she served as Sherpa to the ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง'๐ฌ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐
๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐, working on the ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฑ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ.
Fabiola ๐๐จ-๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐๐ก which - funded by Enterprise Ireland - applies AI to detect ๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐ง๐ฐ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ in the market (https://greenwatch.ai/).
Another passion of Fabiola is ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ and ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง. She has international teaching experience at various levels and in different settings. Moreover, she has industry experience in corporate finance and supply chains, as well as solar development.
