Bursar Update - 4th June 2025
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to you to provide you with an update on the Finance Transformation programme (FinPOST). Since January, significant progress has been made on build two of our new Finance system Workday. I am happy to share that the programme team has successfully completed over 500 rigorous test scenarios in what is called end-to-end testing.
Following the Steering Committee’s approval, the programme moved forward to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), where representatives across all areas of the University participated in over 40 UAT sessions over a 3 week period. This provided our end users in the community with an opportunity to test 252 everyday scenarios and provide valuable feedback to ensure, ahead of Go-Live, that the system is functioning as intended and meeting your needs.
I am delighted to report very positive feedback from the community with a 96% overall user satisfaction rating and 92% of survey respondents reporting they are satisfied the new system will improve current shortfalls experienced.
We are now confident with continued successful progress of the programme that we will Go-Live on July 8 2025.
Over the next five weeks running up to Go-Live, the FinPOST programme team will provide regular updates, communications and support to you. Please stay connected to understand what this means for you and what you can do to make this transition as smooth as possible over the coming months.
Ahead of Go-Live on the 8th July there will be a period of transition or cutover from our legacy ERP systems to Workday. Cutover will include tasks such as deadlines for entering information into legacy systems, deadlines for submitting expenses and purchase orders as well as deadlines for replacing legacy systems with Workday. To understand more about what this means for you we have prepared a detailed cutover guide.
We will continue to work closely with Local Representative Groups and our Change Ambassador Networks to keep you informed. Community wide training is coming soon with further information to follow shortly.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we prepare for an exciting change that will simplify, add value and improve many of our work processes long into the future.
If you have any questions, please contact the FinPOST programme team at: finpost@ucd.ie
Regards,
David
